Please find below the applicable charges for Keswick Anglers Association Visitor Permits.

Permits are available online from Keswick Anglers or from the local outlets listed further down this page.

Permits purchased online are emailed directly to the purchaser. If a permit is not received check spam folders.

Please note that all Visitors must in addition hold a valid Environment Agency Fishing Licence for the times/dates they are fishing and fish species they are seeking to catch.

Visitor Permit holders are granted temporary membership of the association for the duration of the permit. The temporary membership does not grant voting rights or the right to use exchange tickets.

RULES

Rules and regulations to be followed by persons fishing Keswick Angling Association waters on a visitor permit.

You must carry your Association permit and appropriate Environment Agency Licence when fishing and must at all times produce them on application from any officer, bailiff of the Environment Agency (EA), police officer, or at the request of any angler who produces their own permit and EA licence. Failure to do so will result in the angler being required to cease fishing until they are able to produce them. Any person fishing shall permit Police Officers, Water Bailiffs, officers or officials of the Association or EA or anyone holding valid permission to fish or a valid licence, to inspect the fish, baits and tackle in their possession.

For all waters, K.A.A is catch and release. Fishing methods on the rivers is restricted to fly only with barbless or debarbed hooks at all times. For Derwentwater any legal fishing method may be used. (Live baiting is expressly prohibited.)

For salmon fishing any legal method may be used at any time. (Live baiting is expressly prohibited) The use of all spinning baits and lures for Salmon on the rivers is allowed only when the river is at a suitable height or colour. If in doubt contact the Bailiff. Salmon fishing on all Keswick Angling Association Water is catch and release only. All fishing for salmon is to be with barbless or debarbed hooks. The use of prawn, shrimp, salmon roe, cheese, offal and bread as bait or any form of ground baiting is strictly forbidden at all times.

All coarse fish are to be returned to the water with careful handling.The use of barbless or debarbed Hooks and landing mats is preferred. The use or carrying of a gaff is prohibited on all Association water at all times.

Dogs must be kept strictly under control. Anglers must avoid damaging fences and crops and disturbing animals must approach the river or lake by recognised paths.

When fishing in fenced off areas of river bank anglers shall note that all cutting of vegetation on these is areas is governed by a management agreement with Natural England. Anglers shall proceed within the fenced off areas by the most direct route from the access stiles and gates direct to the river. Where cut or marked paths exist these must be used as the only route to the river. Anglers shall leave all gates, open or closed, just as they find them. If in doubt (e.g. if farm stock look likely to escape from a field) then close the gate. When fishing downstream commence fishing from the head of the pool and move down the pool if other anglers are waiting to move in behind.

Any person fishing worm in September and October is obliged to carry a disgorger.
